Many impact studies showed how research was used to help foster community cohesion. Thirty-five highly rated impact studies outlined how research contributed to more inclusive communities and inclusive environments. Examples included:
- additional support for young parents
- support for returned Defence Force members
- use of immersive technology to increase peoples’ understanding of Australian history.
Eight impact studies illustrated the importance of language which created inclusive communities and an additional seven focused on the impacts language teaching can have on education and the communities.
The FoRs associated with this theme included 20 Language, Communication and Culture, 17 Psychology and Cognitive Sciences and 19 Studies in Creative Arts and Writing.
