Research impact was assessed based on qualitative impact studies that detailed approach to impact. In the approach to impact section of an impact study, institutions described the strategies implemented by the institution, its colleges, faculties, groups, departments and/or centres that facilitated the impact described in the impact section of the submission.

The charts show the number of assessed UoAs and the distribution of ratings for approach to impact by two-digit Fields of Research (FoR), interdisciplinary, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research.

The codes with the largest number of high rated UoAs were 07 Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences (13), 09 Engineering (12), 12 Built Environment and Design (11), and 11 Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (11).

The codes with the highest percentage of high rated UoAs for approach to impact were 12 Built Environment and Design (58 per cent) and 07 Agricultural, Veterinary Sciences (57 per cent) and 10 Technology (45 per cent).

Note: One UoA received a rating for the overall approach to impact information within the impact study and a rating for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research content. Both ratings are included in the charts.

Number of UoA ratings by two-digit FoR—Approach to impact

Stacked bar graph showing the number of UoA ratings by two-digit Fields of Research for Approach to Impact. FoRs 03 Chemical Sciences, 13 Education and 16 Studies in Human Society had the highest number of Low ratings (12). FoR 05 Environmental Sciences had the most Medium ratings (23) and FoR 07 Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences had the most High ratings (13).

Note: *One UoA received a rating for the overall approach to impact information within the impact study and a rating for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research content. Both ratings are included in the charts.

Distribution of UoA ratings for two-digit FoR—Approach to impact

100 per cent stacked bar graph showing the distribution of UoA ratings among two-digit Fields of Research codes for Approach to Impact.

Note: *One UoA received a rating for the overall approach to impact information within the impact study and a rating for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research content. Both ratings are included in the charts.
