This section provides detailed profiles of national ERA data by two- and four-digit FoR codes. The data was submitted by higher education institutions at the four-digit FoR code level. The two-digit FoR report the aggregated data of all the four-digit FoR codes which sit beneath the relevant two-digit FoR code.
This table shows the number of staff submitted to ERA 2018 as of the staff census date (31 March 2017). Both the 'FTE' (Full-Time Equivalent) and 'Headcount' figures are shown and correspond to the definition of staff outlined in the Higher Education Staff Data Collection Specifications. 'FTE' represents the time or workload of individuals employed while 'Headcount' represents the raw number of employees. 'FTE' is classified into staffing Levels A-E, Non-Academic and Other FTE while 'Headcount' is classified into 'FTE Employed' (Levels A-E and Other who were employed on full time or fractional basis), 'Casual Employed' and 'Other Appointment' (e.g. seconded or unpaid).
Please note that there are differences in the applicability of indicators for each discipline. These are specified in the ERA 2018 Discipline Matrix.
