Delivering cutting edge technology with partners
Working in partnership to deliver cutting edge technology was identified in 61 highly rated impact studies, highlighting the importance of collaboration to deliver effective research impact for end-users. These impact studies included examples of the development of world leading technology, giving companies a competitive edge, and delivering innovative solutions. For example, 48 highly rated impact studies focused on the commercialisation of their technology across a number of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. These impact studies presented examples of technology benefiting end-users such as:
- mining companies
- smartphone providers
- doctors delivering medical services to their patients.
They also incorporated evidence that the technological benefits were developed in close partnership with the respective beneficiaries who came from government, business, and community sectors.
Given the diversity of research fields delivering cutting edge technology, a number of FoR codes were associated with this theme. These included 01 Mathematical Sciences, 02 Physical Sciences and 09 Engineering.
