Research engagement was assessed based on:
- an engagement narrative
- a small suite of quantitative indicators
- an indicator explanatory statement.
The engagement narrative explained the interaction between researchers and research end-users outside of academia for the mutually beneficial transfer of knowledge, technologies, methods or resources.
The charts show the number of assessed UoAs and the distribution of ratings by two-digit Fields of Research (FoR). The codes with the three largest numbers of high rated UoAs for engagement were 09 Engineering (16), 18 Law and Legal Studies (15), 12 Built Environment and Design (14) and 11 Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (14). The codes with the three largest percentages of high rated UoAs for engagement were 12 Built Environment and Design (74 per cent), 18 Law and Legal Studies (58 per cent) and 10 Technology (50 per cent).
